Opening In a World We Can't See & TENT Welcomes IFFR

On Thursday 25th January at 17.00 hours, TENT opens In a World We Can’t See. In addition to the slide installation by Ine Lamers and Anoek Steketee’s Love Radio, new video installations by Arthur Kleinjan and Margo Onnes will première. These works utilise the atmosphere and surreal logic of memory, dream and parable, suggesting that there is a deeper reality behind our superficial actuality.

Parallel to In a World We Can’t See, Journey to Russia (1989-2017) opens in TENT. The IFFR presents the video-installation from Documenta 14 by Yervant Gianikian and Angela Ricci Lucci. This monumental six-part video-installation recollecting Russian avant-garde cinema, is accompanied by a scroll of drawings 10-meters long. The installation was realised for documenta 14 and will be brought from Kassel to Rotterdam for the ex.

The filmmakers Yervant Gianikian and Angela Ricci Lucci (both 1942) live and work in Milan. Their work has been shown at renowned museums and exhibitions, including MOMA, New York; Jeu de Paume, Paris; Tate Modern, London; de 49th, 55th and 56th Venice Biennial and the most recent documenta in Kassel and Athens.
