Winner(s)
The winner of the TAA ’08 is Yael Assaf (Gerrit Rietveld Academy, Amsterdam) with her film Everyone has to get over his biography. Yael Assaf wins an artist-in-residency at Hangar, Centre de producció d’arts visuals in Barcelona (www.hangar.org). The Public Choice Award ’08 goes to the film Best in Town by Edward Cook (Willem de Kooning Academy, Rotterdam). This year is conspicuous in that the technology employed by the artists is of an increasingly high quality. The artists have also chosen to make relatively long films and documentaries.

Exhibition
The exhibition of the TAA ’08 will be open from July 18 to August 24, 2008 in TENT. This year, the nominated films will be exhibited in an installation by the artist Jasper Niens. A recurrent element in the work of Jasper Niens is the feeling of disorientation. Niens has implemented an architectural intervention in TENT that allows the visitor to experience the space in a totally different way. Towards the end of August the TAA ’08 embark on an (inter)national tour. The following screening dates and places are already known:
