On Monday 28 September at 8 p.m., we will conclude the exhibition All Begins with A by Janneke van der Putten. During that evening, the performance ‘Voice and Space’ will be staged by Janneke van der Putten and a group of workshop participants. This performance marks the end result of her workshop about physical and sensory experiences, using tone of voice, breathing, singing and movement, in immediate connection with the TENT exhibition rooms. As part of the closing event, artist and researcher Joke Robaard will present the lecture Threads of A -Conversation, in which she will partly address the artistic practice of Janneke van der Putten and respond to the works in the exhibition. Threads of A -Conversation is a story revolving around the relations between voices and thoughts, in direct conjunction with the workings of threads and networks. In our deployment of language we continuously connect the most diverse literal and figurative meanings. We create and inform an ongoing and changing web of thoughts and ideas. How can we come to terms with Janneke van der Putten’s voice and sound productions, in light of recent conversations and current “speech communities”?
