Rotterdam Art Rocks

It’s striking that a large number of artists in Rotterdam are about to set up new activities, programmes and artist spaces in their own neighbourhood, street or studio building. Reason for TENT to wonder: who are these initiators and what motivates them? Why do they choose for a place so close to home? This evening, new initiatives share the podium in TENT to explain why they want to set Rotterdam in motion.

Rotterdam will certainly rocks February 7th, thanks to the artist Marc Bijl and his band Götterdämmerung. Bijl, well known for his politically critical works and performances, expresses his view of the world with Götterdämmerung. In a dynamic performance the Gothic/New Wave/postpunk band combines anarchistic lyrics with virtuoso guitar shredding.

On the occasion of the art fair Art Rotterdam, TENT will open its doors at 18.30hrs. The audience can visit the exhibition 3Radicals with work by Robert Breer, Paul Sharits and Cameron Jamie. The Rotterdam Art Rocks programme starts at 20.00hrs.
