A Bigger Splash
For three years, director Jack Hazan followed and filmed the English artist David Hockney. Bydoing so Hazan creates an intimate portrait of the then 37 year-old Hockney and his friends in London Geneva, New York and Los Angeles. A Bigger Splash (1974) takes its name from a painting Hockney made in 1967 and offers a unique insight into the art world of the early seventies. Part fiction, part documentary, the film gives an accurate account of the artist David Hockney as one of the most important representatives of British Pop Art.
