“Hey there! Have you always been curious about art but are not quite sure if it’s your thing? We feel you! That’s why we invite you to our Free Entrance Friday at TENT on the last six Fridays of our exhibition, so you can just try stepping into an art space. Feel welcome to bring along your (chosen) family, so you can experience the exhibition together.
We invite you to explore the complexity of being human through a mixed-media installation. The exhibition portrays the nuanced impact of migration, colonialism, identity, and family on a person through life-size portraits and stories of nine individuals.”
About the exhibitions
With the solo exhibition ‘what it is, what it means and what i would like it to be’, Roos creates a space where you can explore your own sense of family and feel at home. The portrayed women and non-binary persons, all familiar faces from Roos’ own circle, serve as muses for this special collection. Visitors are introduced to the personalities through short audio clips, in which Roos has vulnerable conversations with them. Family, growing up, immigration, queerness, gender and gender transition are intimate themes explored in these conversations.
In ‘Justice Beyond Revenge‘, artist Robert Glas invites you to confront views on justice. The prevailing focus on harsh punishment seems almost unchallenged, but this was not always the norm. Until the mid-1980s, there was a lively public and political debate in The Netherlands about which response to criminal behaviour would best serve society in the longer term.
