De Derde Dinsdag (The Third Tuesday) is a speedy, monthly live preview of Rotterdam’s upcoming events in theatre, music, film, visual arts, festivals, and more. Every month, we are hosted by a different cultural hotspot; this time, it’s V2_Institute for the Unstable Media.

Anna Visser interviews her guests for all the ins and outs, and for each edition, a special guest assists her. The coming season features a rich selection of promising talents and established faves: artists, performers, creators, and opinion formers who have already earned their spurs or are starting out. This edition’s special guest is Elma van Boxel of ZUS. Founded in 2001 by Elma van Boxel and Kristian Koreman, ZUS is an interdisciplinary design bureau for the city and landscape with offices in Rotterdam and New York.

This evening, De Kunsthal presents Drumming, an exhibition of visceral images depicting renowned jazz performers by the photographer Pieter Boersma (1945). The presentation is accompanied by a mini-concert by the Thijs Nissen Jazz Ensemble, featuring drumming not be missed! De Doelen’s General Director, Gabriel Oostvogel, talks about their 50th anniversary and their jubilee concerts, which include De Dag van de Rotterdamse Jazz (The Day of Rotterdam Jazz) and the Bang on a Can Marathon. Anna Visser discusses the Utopian Dreams group exhibition at TENT with the collector and former museum director Reyn van der Lugt. The artist Oscar Santillan talks about Zaratán, his new presentation for Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art as part of their Para | Fictions project.
