TENT is housed on the ground floor of a listed building in the lively Witte de Withstraat. In our exhibition area of 1000 m2, we can take care of your reception surrounded by leading and young contemporary art from Rotterdam. We have a suitable room for every event. Organise your presentation or lecture in TENT; festival, TV recordings or dinner in the exhibition halls; yoga and dance classes in the former girls’ school gym.
TENT Rotterdam
TENT is a platform for the best contemporary art with its roots in Rotterdam. TENT’s program focuses on the interdisciplinary and international nature characterising art from Rotterdam. The power of Rotterdam’s art is made visible in solo and group exhibitions of iconic Rotterdam artists, as well as concerts, screenings, and discussion evenings. A visit to TENT will get you well acquainted with contemporary art in Rotterdam.
The building, which dates from 1875, is in a former girls’ school on the Witte de Withstraat, the ground floor of which has housed TENT since 1999. In early 2014, the historic building was renovated by the Rotterdam architecture office Zandbelt architectuur en stedenbouw. The facade was opened up by a series of four and a half meter high windows that reach from ceiling to floor. The entrance has been redesigned and the facilities on the ground floor have been renovated.
Visiting
TENT is well served by public transport with tram 7 (destination Lombarije) and 20 (destination Willemsplein) taking you from Rotterdam Central station to the museum park tram-stop. TENT is a 10-minute walk from Central Station and there is parking around the corner on Hartmanstraat. There are many restaurants and hotels in the immediate vicinity.
