As part of the Operadagen Rotterdam, on Sunday 25 May at 14.00 and 17.00, TENT presents To The Woods, a musical performance that begins as a realistic reading but degenerates into an imaginative world of the Wild Men, a group of individuals who separate themselves from society and go into nature to find its true form. Two scientists go to investigate this particular group of people but are themselves overwhelmed by the call of the wild.
To The Woods is a multimedia journey into our most animal instincts made by the Belgian/American performer and writer Elsa May Averill in collaboration with musicians, filmmakers, designers, and a costume designer. Averill has made performance at places such as the Veenfabriek and has worked with directors such as Simon McBurney, Johan Simons, and Paul Koek.
