As part of our annual collaboration with the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague and the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, students from the two academies work together to create new works for a presentation at TENT. For the two-month project, the artists draw inspiration from To Be Like Water, the current group exhibition at TENT, in a programme that includes workshops by artists from the exhibition.

As a starting point, To Be Like Water invites the exploration of themes around ‘code-switching’ – the practice of switching between different languages or social and cultural codes. The exhibition aims to investigate and complicate the notion of identity, and to consider ‘code-switching’ as a manifestation of a fluid multiplicity operating within vectors of power.

The resulting works by the KABK and WdKA artists will be shown in the front space of TENT from 20th March to 17th April.
