Shared Space #3

In 2007, TENT and Witte de With and TENT initiated Shared Space, a joint project for the communal area of both institutions housed in Witte de Withstraat 50. For this third edition, designer Chris Kabel proposed a spatial intervention that transformed Shared Space into a public meeting place, based on the idea of a village square.

Kabel designed a circular bench to create an intimate shared space. Visitor could read books and publications of Witte de With and TENT and leave their comments using a pen tied to the wall with a piece of string, contributing to a circle of thoughts.

The Shared Space series was succeeded by the collaborative project Rotterdam Cultural Histories.
