With Placeholder, TENT Rotterdam introduces a new series of accessible gatherings for young adults aged 18 to 30. At a time when major societal issues often feel overwhelming, TENT, together with young Rotterdammers, aims to create a space where optimism, doubt, curiosity, and imagination can coexist. Placeholder invites people to come together, to talk, and to explore without pressure.

The public outreach team at TENT is working to create an institution that is open, accessible, and connected to the lives of young people in the city. With Placeholder, they focus on themes that resonate with people: the housing crisis, global inequality, women's rights, and other pressing issues that touch the daily lives of young people. These issues are approached in a gentle, hopeful way, with room for reciprocity and genuine exchange. Not to find quick answers, but to share a sense that change is possible. Placeholder consists of intimate, accessible gatherings that intertwine art, conversation, and community. Young people are explicitly invited to contribute ideas, experiences, and questions. Their input, energy, and perspectives shape the series and guide its direction. This fosters meaningful cross-pollination between TENT and the young people for whom the city is both a playground and a battleground.
