The Real Deal

On 3 and 4 October, the international drawing festival ‘The Big Draw’ will come back to Rotterdam with the aim of getting everyone to enjoy drawing. During this two-day festival, the visitors can take part, free of charge, in workshops, masterclasses and guided tours from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. in the participating art institutions: TENT, Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Showroom MAMA, Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art and Villa Zebra.

The Real Deal – Silas
This year, skill forms centre stage during the greatest international drawing festival The Big Draw at TENT and the Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art. Drawing is fun, everybody can draw, but to sink one’s teeth into a subject for 100% and to translate this as realistically as possible into the two-dimensional plane, is quite a different story. During the free workshop The Real Deal, visual artist Silas (also known as a member of KAMP HORST) will be pleased to lend you a hand. In his workshop ‘drawing true-to-nature’, he will teach the participants the skills of drawing according to observation. You may expect to enjoy a classical drawing school with a contemporary touch.
