Also Paul Elliman will be present with a small group of singers for the performance ‘How we learn the old songs’. The singers attempt to replicate the sounds of an arriving fleet of emergency vehicles: police cars, fire trucks and ambulances. The human voice and bodily gestures emerge in unexpected correspondences with sounds of the city and resonate with issues of authority and power.

Opera of Things & How we learn the old songs
On Wednesday 19 June Jasna Veličković performs ‘Opera of Things’ for the last time at TENT. The title refers to the ‘Internet of Things’, which envolves extending internet connectivity beyond standard devices into any range of common objects, such as a lamp or thermostat.
