PARK(ing) Day is an annual worldwide event where artists, designers and citizens transform metered parking spots into temporary public parks. The mission of PARK(ing) Day is to call attention to the need for more urban open space, to generate critical debate around how public space is created and allocated, and to improve the quality of urban human habitat

Parking Day
On Friday 16 September it’s PARK(ing) Day! Performance artist Ilke Gers presents on the parking space in front of TENT the project SLOW. SLOW is part of her project Public Works that investigates movement, behaviour and materials in public space. It looks at the workers who make and implement signage systems and the public who respond to it as a complex choreography. For Parkingday, roadpainting company Markeer will make a freehand marking in the parking spot. This project has been made possible by CBK Rotterdam O&O grant.
