ART WEEK at TENT

During Art Week, Rotterdam once again focuses on what has always been there: a city brimming with art, stories, and encounters. In this context, we present Lend Me Your Ears, an exhibition about how memories and stories connect people, across generations and throughout time.

Six artists reflect on the transience of our existence and the fragile yet powerful role of memory. What do we pass on? And what continuity do we want to be a part of?

Six memorable projects, several of which are premiering, utilize ancient symbols, science fiction, film, markmaking, dance, and live storytelling to forge connections between the past, present, and future. Stories flow from person to person, from voice to voice, from generation to generation.

The heart of the exhibition is the performative installation by David Maroto, from which the title Lend Me Your Ears is also taken.

Starting Friday during Art Week, live storytellers will be present, literally passing on stories from mouth to mouth. Each story changes along the way and takes on new life.

Choreographer Amparo González Sola (Dansateliers) also activates the space with the durational performance Gestures as Portals. Two performers share the space with the audience for five hours in a tranquil choreography that evolves from simple gestures. Movements are slowed down, repeated, and deepened, creating moments of attention, closeness, and shared presence.

With works by Iratxe Jaio, Dorota Detlaf, Kwinnie Lê and Müge Yilmaz, a journey unfolds through personal memories, ancestral lines and future stories.

Tickets: €5,00 for adults | €2,50 for students with a student ID | €2,50 with the Rotterdam City Card app | Free admission for children up to 18, Rotterdam Pass holders, Museum Year Card holders, and ICOM card holders. Always bring your card so it can be scanned.
