About the O&O publication
The publication reviews four years of artistic research projects by more than 160 Rotterdam-based artists, showing a cross-section of contemporary art practice.
The publication classifies the projects, which took place from 2014 through 2017, according to eight perspectives: activist, connector, translator, newsreader, historian, scientist, technologist, and image maker. Six artists are interviewed about how the O&O scheme influenced the development of their work. The publication also contains essays by art theorist Janneke Wesseling about the importance of artistic research and philosopher Henk Oosterling about the artist and craftsmanship.

About the O&O scheme
Since 2010, the O&O scheme has provided Rotterdam-based artists with the opportunity to develop and further their professional practice through research. In 2014, the first publication gave an overview of the artists who received an O&O grant between 2010 and 2014.
