Tubelight’s roots lie at number 53 Witte de Withstraat, right opposite TENT and Kunstinstituut Melly. This was once home to MK Galerie. Back then, owners of the gallery, Emmo Grofsmid and Karmin Kartowikromo, together with co-initiator Antoine Achten, started an experimental review magazine in 1998. Over the years, this small initiative grew into a springboard for emerging writers, editors and designers.
