Workshop instrumenten bouwen met Yuri Landman

Yuri Landman is a musician and designer of experimental musical instruments, and has created special instruments for bands such as Sonic Youth, dEUS, Blood Red Shoes, and Health. He will lead a workshop inspired by the famous geometric-abstract paintings of the Russian artist Malevich. Based on the participants’ insights, they will create a composition using snares on a wooden plate. The snares will cross each other, creating a sound palette reminiscent of the sound of gongs, bells and Indonesian gamelan music. The workshop is suitable for all, and participants need no specific skills or musical knowledge.
On Saturday 11 April at 15:00, Yuri Landman will conduct a concert featuring workshop participants and Hidde van Schie’s band, Friday Wilkinson will play at 15:30h.
