Deirdre M. Donoghue (b. 1971, Finland) lives and works in Rotterdam. She is a mother, visual and performance artist, writer, researcher, doula-in-training and founder of the international m/other voices foundation whose purpose is to initiate discourse and the doing of maternal theory within arts and other fields of cultural production. In her artworks she sets up social scenarios and specifically framed human encounters where multiple relations can be set into motion, through which the production of new knowledge via cross-disciplinary approaches becomes mobilized.
She is initially trained as an actor at The Commedia School (DK) and worked for several years as a performer and a director. She received a BA Degree in Photography, Dublin Institute of Technology (IE), Diploma in Postgraduate Studies, Piet Zwart Institute (NL) and MA Degree in Fine Arts, The Plymouth University (UK).
