On 1 January 2014, the CBK Rotterdam in collaboration with the Materiaalfonds launched the CBK Rotterdam Materiaalfonds. This special Materiaalfonds provides interest-free loans, where Rotterdam artists and initiatives are directly able to submit applications. Artists can also combine an O&O subsidy and/or Investeringsbijdrage (Investment contribution) with an interest-free loan.

This year, the artists Boris van Berkum, Janine Schrijver, Lydia Weijers, and the new Rotterdam project space A Tale of a Tub (represented by Nathanja van Dijk) all received an interest-free loan from the Materiaalfonds. They tell about their search for funding opportunities and motivation to apply to the Materiaalfonds.

Specifically for Rotterdam artists, this year there will be an extra application round for an interest-free Materiaalfonds loan. The deadline for this round is 28 November 2014. More information about applying for an interest-free loan from the Materiaalfonds can be found here.
