The publication shows three recent series from 2012 and 2013: Sculptures, large black and white nude photos of his nightlife friends and acquaintances; Dark Passengers, portraits in the tradition of chiaroscuro of young men and women spot lit against a dark background; and The Liars, neutral portraits – like those provided for passports – of young people in tears against a deep blue background. Two accompanying texts by photography expert Rik Suermondt and Pieter Wisse delve deeper into the backgrounds of these series and Top’s processes. The book is published by 500 Photographers Editions and designed by Nicole Martens.

Book Launch Pim Top
On Sunday 2 November at 15:00, there will be a festive presentation of the book Sculptures – Dark Passengers – The Liars, by the photographer Pim Top. During the presentation, independent curator Yasmijn Jarram and Pim Top will discuss his book and working methods. As part of the presentation and in collaboration with Galerie Zic Zerp, a special edition from The Liars photographic series will be on sale. De Rotterdamsche Oude will provide vintage Rotterdam cheese and port.
