The open call is part of Radio Calling, a series of events in which radio is explored as a medium and platform for performance art. TENT gives a number of artists the opportunity to make a new radio work. It will be recorded in public, at TENT, on Sunday 15 December and streamed live to an international (listening) audience on the art blog, This Is Tomorrow. Selected participants take part in activities such as a master class with Peter Fengler (performance artist and artistic director of DE PLAYER).

Would you like to participate? Please send, before 26 November 2013, a proposal (max. 300 words) for a 1 to 7 minute radio performance, a recent biography or artist statement and resume to Jesse van Oosten: jesse@tentrotterdam.nl
If you are selected, then a modest budget for the production of the work is available. It is important that you can be present at TENT on 9 December, and from 13 to 15 December.

Radio Calling, 13 – 15 December at TENT
The Radio Calling weekend event explores various forms of radio in contemporary art through live radio performances, masterclasses and a mini-symposium. How can the medium contribute to the production and perception of a work of art? Why is the use of radio increasingly popular among artists?

Radio Residencies, London and Rotterdam
Radio Calling launches Radio Residencies, a new long-term partnership between TENT and Camden Arts Centre in London. Both institutions have invited an artist to produce a new performance work in which the possibilities of live performance and broadcasting are examined. The London artist Jeremy Evans and the Rotterdam artist Jay Tan are the first artists to participate in the residency project.
