Dear heart, is a workshop by visual artist Sheray of Light and jewelry artist Tamara Vierbergen and has been specially developed for pupils from groups 7/8 as a supplement to the exhibition 'Walk on by'.
In the workshop, students will explore the concept of the ‘heart’. They will be invited to express their inner world by asking their heart a question and forming an answer through color, form, and materiality. This will result in a growing collaborative work that literally connects all participants and amplifies and honors the essence of the exhibition of communicating without words. Both artists centralize the act of ritual, contemplation, and heart-centered concepts, utilizing these components to form a communal experience in which students co-create a sculptural work.
In addition to this workshop, the students will also be taken to the Walk on By exhibition and will engage in conversation based on questions such as; what does community spirit mean to you? In what ways do you share your emotions with others? How can you speak without words?
