Take Over #2: Family Values

The Heart Breakerz Crew is an international all-female Hip Hop crew. Perhaps, the only queer, feminist alliance of artists in the hip hop (dance) world. The collective focuses on collaborations to energize and challenge each other, their scenes and global dance communities. The Heart Breakerz share a passion for hip hop culture and use movement, music and art in their performances and work as ambassadors and representatives of various subcultures and collectives across the world. As a collective of women, mothers, girls, professionals, hustlers, the crew deals and maneuvers differently within the macho hip hop world.

The tribulations, experiences and creative explorations within hip hop are central to the take-over they organize within the context of the project BLUEPRINT: Whose urban appropriation is this? For this specific intervention, the crew developed a live painting and dance workshops for children, a jam and a panel conversation that delves deeper into raising the future generation of hip hop.
