Since mid-2006, Mariette Dölle has been the artistic director of TENT, the exhibition space for contemporary art in Rotterdam’s Witte de Withstraat. Under her leadership, TENT has developed into a springboard for young artists and curators, is an ambassador for Rotterdam’s art, and connects art and artists with social and artistic developments in a lively public programme and exhibitions. She curated successful exhibitions with works by Lara Almarcegui, Libia Castro & Olafur Olafsson, Wendelien van Oldenborgh, and Anne Wenzel. Her sharp eye for the latest developments on the artistic agenda has ensured TENT’s (inter) national reputation.

Mariette Dölle: “It has been a pleasure to work for TENT and to support art from Rotterdam. I was able to lead one of the most challenging art spaces in the Netherlands. Supported by an enthusiastic team, I have developed a leading exhibition programme with an international reputation. This year, TENT is working with Palais de Tokyo and Tate Modern. TENT has an open attitude to its visitors, the city, and the art world.” Mariette Dölle

On Friday 22 April, the group exhibition Utopian Dreams, curated by Reyn van der Lugt and Mariette Dölle, opens at TENT.
