Kunst in het Witte de Withkwartier

The festival ‘Kunst in het Witte de Withkwartier’ (Art in the Witte de With Quarter) will open the new cultural season providing a ‘State of the Art’ of the Rotterdam art sector. With that, the art festival will show a rich cross-section of all that Rotterdam has to offer on the cutting edge of performance art and visual art, with fashion, music, design, photography, video art and interventions in the public space.

14.00 h – A Conversation With… photographer Robert de Hartogh
Wouter Welling (curator of contemporary art at the Afrika Museum) talks to photographer Robert de Hartogh about his work. Hartogh’s pictures from the Rotterdam Summer Carnival in 1984, document the birth of this unique burst of creativity in which the cultural, economic, social and political ideas of the city now coalesce.
