David Maroto is a Spanish visual artist based in the Netherlands. He has created art projects in the form of games (Disillusion) and novels (Illusion). In 2011 he spent a residency in ISCP New York, where he met curator Joanna Zielinska and begun their collaboration in The Book Lovers, a long-term project focused on artist novels with the support of a number of international art institutions. Maroto holds an MFA degree from the Dutch Art Institute and is currently carrying out a PhD in Edinburgh College of Art.

Kim Gorus studied Literature & Linguistics at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and went on to obtain a postgraduate degree in Contemporary Art at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). In 2011 she acquired a PhD at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel studying visual intermediality in Peter Verhelst’s literary work. Since 2009, she is working as research assistant in Visual Writing and Narrativity at Sint Lucas Antwerpen (St Lucas University College of Art & Design Antwerp), where she also coordinates artistic research projects and publications. In 2015, she will teach two courses on poetry at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.

Micah Hrehovcsik is a game design lecturer and researcher at the HKU, University of Arts Utrecht. As an entertainment game designer he has a background in the wireless industry, where he worked on such trademark titles as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. As a game design researcher he functions as lead game designer and creative director of the HKU’s G&I studio-lab, where he has designed serious games in the domains of health, safety and education. His research into game design is used to develop theory and tools for game design educational purposes, which he uses as a lecturer of game design theory and student project supervisor.
