The Summer Salon refers to the most important annual exhibition in Paris in the 19th century, called the Salon, in which a jury decided which works would be shown. It was the exhibition in which painters and sculptors could make a name for themselves. Summer Salon is a stock-taking exhibition of the creative community in South Rotterdam. Are there still undiscovered talents, and which subjects are topical in the art of South Rotterdam? The exhibition has a broad view of the artistic spectrum in South Rotterdam and, therefore, shows work by artists from the established and non-established art world.

Call for entries
Established and non-established artists from South Rotterdam have until 6 July to enter a maximum of two works for the Summer Salon. On the selection day, Sunday 22 July, the jury will decide which artists participate in the exhibition. The works shown in Het Gemaal will also have the chance to win a prize. The director of the CBK Rotterdam will invite the most talented artist in South Rotterdam to exhibit their work in the CBK on the Nieuwe Binnenweg in Rotterdam.
