Workshop Werker Magazine

Werker Magazine is organising a photography workshop especially for 15 to 24-year-olds. The workshop follows the methodologies of the Arbeiterfotografenbewegung (Worker Photography Movement), which originated in the 1920s in Germany and then spread across Europe and to America and Japan. Participants take part in an interactive exhibition tour of Motion /Labour /Machinery and work with the artists on depicting their daily relationship to labour, in the broadest sense of the word.

Werker Magazine
Werker Magazine is by artist Marc Roig Blesa and graphic designer Rogier Delfos. Werker Magazine makes publications about labour and the social function of photography in contemporary society. In contrast to the rhetorical approach of the Arbeiterfotografenbewegun, Worker Magazine is interested in working methods based on self-presentation, self-publishing, image analysis, and collective learning. Each publication is produced and distributed in a different context such as a school, a museum, a neighbourhood, or online. In the exhibition Motion /Labour /Machinery, Werker Magazine presents their ongoing project Young Worker Camera: an archival presentation of over 500 images representing the relationship between youth and labour.

The workshop takes place on Saturday 28 November and Saturday 12 December from 14.00 till 17.00 hrs.
On 12 December the workshop takes place in TENT, then the results will be discussed and categorised.
